Symposium on Black

Symposium Black

MoMu organises an academic symposium with internationally renowned speakers on the most intriguing and fashionable colour: black. On Wednesday May 12th, the auditorium of the FotoMuseum will be host to this day filled to the brim with new research, discussions and opportunities to talk to one another.

Experts from within the fashion and art world, as well as the authors of the catalogue and curators of the exhibition, will talk about their research on the colour black and add exciting new elements that have come up since the exhibition BLACK. Masters of Black in Fashion and Costume started, such as the donation of fashion journals from the early nineteenth century featuring black as a fashion colour. Also, Helena Lumelsky, a young designer based in Antwerp and featured in the exhibition, will talk about the use of black in her collections. Obviously, this day wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the exhibition. We hope to see you all on the 12th, in your darkest black!
