The 18th of October, Frieda Sorber, curator historical collection gave a workshop about the identification of lace. The participants had the opportunity to take a look at different kinds of lace from the MoMu study collection. After introduction about how handling and storing lace, attendants, were made aware of the different structures and European lace making techniques.

In the afternoon the workshop continued in the Carolus Borromeus church, where lace from the 17th and 18th centuries could be examined from the rich collection of the church. Specialists Nora Andries and Godelieve Vroom helped participants find their way in the evolution of lace styles.
