MoMu and Flanders Fashion Institute have joined forces and are putting Belgian shoe talents in the picture! With MoMu’s ‘FootPrint – The Tracks of Shoes in Fashion’ exhibition and FFI’s #ikkoopbelgisch campaign, the collaboration between MoMu and FFI was the perfect match! Each week from 17th November to 14th February, different contemporary Belgian footwear brands will be displayed in the museum hall. First up: Nathalie Verlinden!
Nathalie Verlinden designed her first pair of shoes in 1994 as a high school art student. She then went on to study sculpture in Antwerp and worked for Dries Van Noten in his flagship store. She then pursued her career as shoe designer by enrolling in a course for artisan shoemaking. She now has her own brand. She has created shoe collections for Raf Simons and has been designing shoes for Bruno Pieters since 2006.
