MoMu and Flanders Fashion Institute have joined forces and are putting Belgian shoe talents in the picture! With MoMu’s ‘FootPrint – The Tracks of Shoes in Fashion’ exhibition and FFI’s #ikkoopbelgisch campaign, the collaboration between MoMu and FFI was the perfect match! Each week from 17th November to 14th February, different contemporary Belgian footwear brands will be displayed in the museum hall. Next up: Mats Rombaut!
Belgian designer Mats Rombaut is based in Paris where he worked for Lanvin and Damir Doma. The lack of vegan and fashionable shoes stimulated him to launch his own brand ROMBAUT in January 2013 through which he wants to send out a positive message of consciousness and address the environmental issues the fashion industry is confronted with. By proposing strong aesthetics and humanist values in his designs, ROMBAUT aims to provide a way forward for a world in need of change – a progressive concept for a more equitable future. In his own production process, all toxic and animal unfriendly fabrics and components are banned.
