Until June 8th, the Vakko Fashion Centre hosts the MoMu exhibition ‘Stephen Jones & The Accent of Fashion’. The retrospective features an added section on Orient influences in the milliners work.
Children presented the fruit of their work at the MoMu Atelier. Inspired by Stephen Jones’ designs, they drew imaginary hats which they realized in ten weekly sessions.
In our third and last “making of” video report we show excerpts from the presentation of the chocolates that were developped by Dominique Persoone in collaboration with Stephen Jones.
This morning MoMu welcomed Donald Jacquemin, a teacher in Leuven, with chocolates, the exhibition catalogue and free tickets for our 2011 exhibtions to celebrate 30.000 visitors for ‘Stephen Jones & The Accent of Fashion’.

Stephen Jones and John Galliano have been working together for nearly 20 years. Over the years, they’ve created an astonishing range of hats and developed a creative shorthand, and friendship.

Stephen Jones made hats for films and pop stars, working together with directors and singers to achieve the desired effect. “He knows how to make the difference between a cute hat and a legendary hat”, says Dita Von Teese.
Europal Packaging produced the hexagonal hatboxes which form a striking setting for Stephen Jones’ masterpieces.
A short film about the enlarged hatboxes which are an essential part of the exhibition design.

The French ‘fête des Catherinettes’, a special day for women of 25 (or older) who are still unmarried, inspired John Galliano and Stephen Jones to collaborate on a yellow and green tule dress with festive hat for the Dior Haute Couture A/W 2005-06 show.
The final theme of Stephen Jones & The Accent of Fashion, Adventure, is introduced by an enlargement of the ‘Ecstasy’ hat from Jones’s Artifice collection.
