Cover of ‘Die Dame’ (February 1923), a German fashion magazine that has been donated to the MoMu Library
We are very excited that several issues of the German fashion magazine ‘Die Dame‘ has been donated to our very own library!
The magazine not only has a historical importance but it also gives us an image of fashion during war time. Back in the old days, Germany was very fascinated by French fashion and fashion magazines. Between 1870 and 1914, at least 110 new magazines were published in Germany. Some of the more popular ones survived mid-20th century and ‘Die Dame’ was one of them which was published from 1873 to 1940.
We are absolutely mind blown and extremely happy with this generous donation!
